In answer to the question of whether this restaurant is Greek, I would say it does have many of the foods you would get at a Greek restaurant, but the family running this is not Greek, they're from somewhere in the Middle East, so there are many other options that are not Greek, and the spices used in preparing the dishes might be slightly different from what you would expect in a Greek restaurant. I would definitely come back here again, but we'll stay away from the grape leaves. The rest of the food was good enough I'm still giving this place 4 out of 5. OK, he may not have understood, his English wasn't that good. We told the guy who seated us (the owner?) that it wasn't good or fresh, but he didn't offer to replace it or take it off the bill. Not sure how long they had been in the fridge. We ordered the Grape Leaves stuffed with rice (usually called Dolma or Dolmades, depending on language), which weren't so good.they were refrigerator cold, the flavor was off, and the rice inside was soggy and gummy. think that came with the Falafel, but maybe it was for the table. They served some home-made pickled veggies I. Had the Greek salad, which was good and fresh, along with some appetizers. We stopped for a bite on our way back to San Diego, at around 4 in the afternoon. We apologized to the server but said we would not be staying. My suggestion would be unless you work in the area and can come during the week, don't come here for lunch. In my opinion, forcing patrons to order dinner for lunch is very poor business practice. You may as well come for dinner and get the belly dancer entertainment along with the meal, whenever they offer that. So if you come here for lunch on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, you are required to order from the dinner entree side of the menu, which ranges from $20-$30 per dish. Which it does state on the menu, in small print. Then the server told us no lunch selections on Fri Sat or Sunday either. We were going to stay as I had read their lentil soup is very good, and my husband thought the steak kebab sandwich would be a nice lunch. After reviewing my Groupon fine print, I saw he was correct. lunch on a Sunday afternoon.Īfter being seated, and given menus, the server who was very nice, explained no Groupon on Fri, Sat or Sun. I had purchased a Groupon which was about to expire, so my husband and I came here for. I was looking forward to trying this place, as I love Mediterranean food. Well I would love to review the food here, but I didn't eat any. Unfortunately, there were problems for us. ![]() We did call for reservations & they told us "no problem". If the restaurant knew it would be too busy with the other guests, they should have told us there was private parties that evening. The server did apologize, but a little too late. My friends were accommodating & watched me eat. I mentioned that I never received my dinner & before I could say "never mind", she was gone. Our server came out with the bill when all were done eating & asked if everything was fine. I waited for mine to come out & asked different servers if they could check. We ordered 4 dinners & waited & waited with finally 3 dinners being served. order taken & hubby was told there was no Turkish coffee, as it takes too long to make. We finally were seated & noticed there was a wedding reception & a birthday celebration, with large groups. ![]() We called ahead for reservations & no one was at the desk when we arrived.
